It looks like Kylie Minogue has finally won the legal battle with Kylie Jenner for putting a trademark on the first name the two shared. The "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star is trying to make her name a brand in the U.S., but the 48-year-old singer contradicted.

It was in April 2015 when the legal battle between the two started when Kylie Jenner registered the name Kylie to be used for advertising and endorsement purposes. Kylie Minogue, on the other hand, opposed her request in February 2016.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office now refused Kylie Jenner's plan to trademark her name. The 19-year-old star wanted to mark her moniker so she could it use as a brand of her successful beauty line, but this will have a conflict with Kylie Minogue.

According to Hello Magazine, Kylie Minogue's legal team believed that the move of Kylie Jenner to trademark the name Kylie might cause "confusion and damage" to the Australian actress' brand. They, too, insisted that the Joshua Sasse fiancé has already owned the trademark in the U.S. and known as "internationally renowned performing artist, humanitarian and breast cancer activist."

KDB, the Australian-based business representing Kylie Minogue, also claimed that its client owned the trademark for her entertainment businesses and music recordings. These include "Kylie Minogue Darling," "Lucky - the Kylie Minogue musical" and "Kylie Minogue." In fact, she also has a website under her name called Kylie.com since 1996.

Meanwhile, People reported that the documents prepared by Kylie Minogue's legal team criticized Kylie Jenner. They say that her "photographic exhibitionism" and "controversial posts" on social media led to a lot of hullaballoo for violating the Disability Rights and African-American communities." KDB, too, called Kylie Jenner a "secondary reality television personality" for her inclusion in the reality television series "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" and a "supporting character" to her sisters, Kim, Khloe and Kourtney.
