Nicki Minaj visited New York's Hot 97 radio station to clear the air, almost a full year after a very memorable incident.

The rapper, who had pulled out of Hot 97's annual Summer Jam concert on June 3, 2012, wanted to let Peter Rosenberg know the reason for her anger.

"I never found you funny, I never found you entertaining, I never found you smart," she told Rosenberg, who was the reason for her cancellation last summer. "I just found you annoying."

She also added, "To me you don't have enough of a resume to make those comments but you know, you did and it is what it is."

While hosting the concert's opening last summer, Rosenberg dissed Minaj's hit Starships, a pop single feautred on the rapper's sophomore album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. In response to that diss, Minaj never performed.

While Minaj called the incident "water under the bridge," she did admit that she regrets her actions.

"I wish I would've come down and did the show," said the rapper. "A whole bunch of people were punished for something that they knew nothing about, something that they couldn't control."

During the Tuesday interview, Rosenberg, who pointed out he's been in radio for 16 years, explained why he made the diss: "I generally, I love hip-hop. So I speak out about things I don't like."

In his opinion, Minaj's Starships was not a good song for the hip-hop movement.

"While I certainly meant how I felt about the song, I was bummed out that it took the life that it took and that people ended up seeing me as this like person who like hated Nicki Minaj," the radio host said.

While Minaj has accepted Rosenberg's apologize, there's another thing that is clear from the interview. The star isn't fazed by Rosenberg's opinion on Starships, or anyone's for that matter. The song, she pointed out, has sold seven million copies worldwide.

"I never put a limit on myself," she said of experimenting with pop music. Still, Minaj confirms that she is returning to her true rap roots. "I'm choosing to get back to my essence and just feed the core hip-hop fan."
