Kate McKinnon is set to take over a beloved role from many '90s kids' childhoods.

McKinnon will voice Ms. Frizzle in Netflix's upcoming revival of The Magic School Bus. The Saturday Night Live actress takes over for original Ms. Frizzle voice actress Lily Tomlin in Magic School Bus Rides Again, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Magic School Bus revival series is set to center on a "modernized" Ms. Frizzle taking her kids through the universe on her high-tech bus, according to the report. "The series will also highlight the latest tech innovations such as robotics, wearables and camera technology to -- like in the original series -- encourage children's interest in science."

There's no premiere date yet for Magic School Bus Rides Again, thought it is reportedly expected to drop at some point in 2017.

The original Magic School Bus aired from 1994-98 on PBS and later aired in reruns. Tomlin won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program for her voice performance in 1996.

McKinnon has made a name for herself over the last few years through her standout presence on SNL. The comedian and actress has played the likes of Hillary Clinton, Ellen DeGeneres, Jane Lynch, Kellyanne Conway, Angela Merkel and Justin Bieber. She won an Emmy for her performance in 2016, becoming the first SNL regular to do so since Dana Carvey in 1993.

McKinnon has also branched out into film acting, having standout roles in such movies as Ghostbusters, Office Christmas Party and Masterminds.
