They recently spoke out against rumors that they had called it quits on their year-long engagement, but a new report indicates that things are definitely over between Season 20 Bachelor stars Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell.

According to OK! Magazine, the pair have officially called it quits, despite reassuring fans with Instagram posts in the last few weeks that they were still committed to one another and were still a couple, and sources told the magazine that a split was a long time coming for the pair.

"Ben and Lauren's relationship has been crumbling since before the holiday season, and now they have officially called it quits," a source told the magazine. "It's only a matter of time before they announce it."

As for what led to the split, the two allegedly could never agree on the important things, which caused them to finally decide that it wasn't worth trying to make something work that couldn't.

"They couldn't agree on many life decisions. Ben was constantly trying to make Lauren live in Colorado, and Lauren couldn't stand it. She missed LA and wanted to move back, but knew that wasn't an option."

The two both recently took to Instagram to slam rumors they had split, after Bushnell was spotted on a vacation without her engagement ring.

Ben initially took to Instagram last week, sharing a photo of himself with Bushnell and saying that he didn't need to respond to any "fake" news, but wanted everyone to know he still felt the same way about Bushnell as he did in the past.

Bushnell also shared an image with her fiance this week, admitting they had some problems sometimes, but they were still trying to make things work.

"We ain't perfect but we tryin'," she captioned her shot.

In addition to the most recent rumor, it appears things haven't been going as well for the couple as they'd hoped when it also comes to their reality TV careers. The pair's Freeform show Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After was renewed, but without them, instead being retooled with twins Emily and Haley Ferguson as the new stars.
