Red Velvet emerged as the winner of Mnet's "M! Countdown." The South Korean girl group is also reported to have finished filming for a segment in "Running Man."

"M! Countdown is back with its weekly show featuring performances from different artists. Red Velvet and Akdong Musician were nominated for the top place. It was the girl group that took grabbed the top spot with their hit song "Rookie," according to a report by All Kpop.

Red Velvet's "Rookie" is the fourth extended play released by SM Entertainment. As Billboard describes the single, it is a pop-funk that shows the unconventional musicality of the group. It also likened the music video as part "Candyland" and part "Yellow Submarine."

"Rookie" also topped the charts in terms of album sales on its first week of release, and even on the iTunes charts in different regions according to Soompi. The single's success clearly speaks of the status the Red Velvet group was able to achieve.

Four members of Red Velvet, Irene, Wendy, Seulgi and Yeri, were reported to have taken part in an episode of the "Running Man. Joy was not included in the shoot as she was busy filming for her upcoming tvN drama titled "The Liar and His Lover." She was recently reported to have nearly hurt herself during one of her performances. Fans also missed her as the group received their second win on "Show Champion."

A source from SBS confirmed the girl group's participation but also clarified their part. "They were not a part of the whole filming, but took part in one game." The "Running Man's" shoot with Red Velvet took place in Jamsil, Seoul on Feb 6.

Soompi reported that Red Velvet has recently wrapped up filming for "Running Man." Red Velvet will appear on the "Running Man" episode on Feb 12.
