After bagging the title of being the most successful animated film released in Japan last year, the creators of the "Your Name" animated movie are now focusing on the franchise's novel adaptations. New reports are revealing that the novel adaptation of Makoto Shinkai's work are now scheduled to be released in over 22 countries across Asia, Europe and North America.

The "Your Name" novel adaptation was originally published back in June last year, less than a month before the release of the mega-hit anime movie. Over 1 million copies of the novel have been sold in Japan so far. It also quickly became the top-selling "bunko" paperback novel in the country last year.

A report from Asahi Shimbun reveals that several other related books were also distributed in countries such as Malaysia, Taiwan and Thailand. Aside from the main "Your Name" novel, other tie-in books includes the spin-off novel, " Kimi no Na wa. Another Side: Earthbound," a children's illustration book and the "Kantoku Sakuhin Kimi no Na wa. Kōshiki" visual guide book.

The novel along with its related publications sold over 3.2 million copies worldwide. Supplies of the novels in Thailand were immediately sold out, leading to a big demand in new prints to be imported. In Taiwan, over 40,000 copies were distributed, making it a first for a translated novel in the country.

According to Anime News Network, the novel's publisher, Kadokawa, recently announced that they will be releasing the novel in 19 additional countries. The 19 countries includes the United States, Austria, Belgium, Britain, China, Canada, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Germany, Hong Kong, Macao, South Korea, San Marino, Switzerland, Spain, Singapore, Vatican City and Vietnam.

The "Your Name" anime movie managed to sell over 16.4 million tickets and raked over $187 million at the Japanese box office. The movie is scheduled to premiere in the United States and Canada on April 7.
