CBS is slated to air the premiere of Doubt tonight, starring Katherine Heigl, Dulé Hill, Elliott Gould and Laverne Cox.

Heigl returns to television in a starring role for the first time since her highly-publicized exit from Grey's Anatomy. In Doubt, Heigl plays Sadie Ellis, an attorney who falls in love with one her clients, Billy Brennan (Steven Pasquale). Sadie tries to hide her growing feelings for Billy, who is accused of murdering his girlfriend 24 years ago

Hill plays Albert Cobb, Sadie's close friend at work who believes he knows everything there is to know about her. Then there's Cox, who makes history as the first transgender actor or actress to have a starring role in a network TV show. The Orange Is the New Black star plays Cameron Wirth, a transgender attorney who passionately fights for her clients.

They, along with Tiffany Simon (Dreama Walker) and Nick Brady (Kobi Libii) work for Isaiah Roth (Gould), who has a strong, revered reputation in the liberal community.

"Sadie's decision to become involved with her client could put her career, as well as her happiness, at risk if Billy is found guilty, which means she needs to work all the harder to prove reasonable doubt, even if she has some herself," says CBS.

Doubt comes from husband and wife team Tony Phelan and Joan Rater, who worked together as producers on Grey's Anatomy from seasons 2-10.

Doubt premieres Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. If you cannot watch the premiere but still want to watch it live online, you'll be able to live stream it through CBS All Access. The streaming service is $5.99 per month but you can get a free trial if you haven't already signed up for it.
