A&E dropped a new trailer of "Bates Motel" Season 5 where Rihanna is now seen as Marion Crane. It looks like things won't turn out right as she is seen with Norman (Freddie Highmore).

It has been known that Marion's, originally played by Janet Leigh, character in the classic Alfred Hitchcock 1960 movie, "Psycho," didn't end up well, thus this might also be the case in Rihanna's role in "Bates Motel" Season 5. The psychological horror drama's executive producers Carlton Cuse and Kerry Ehrin said at Comic-Con 2016 that they wanted to put the said iconic role into the much modern spotlight.

By that, they will recreate the legendary character by making it more meaningful in an exciting new way. Carlton Cuse also explained that although some already knew what happened to Rihanna's character as Marion in "Bates Motel" Season 5, they won't expect what will happen to the said role now.

"We are going to meet Marion Crane, but what we don't want to do is create the impression that we're redoing the movie because we're not at all," Carlton Cuse said, per Bloody Disgusting. The screenwriter also added that the character in the movie "Psycho" and the role Rihanna plays in "Bates Motel" Season 2 and will play out differently.

"Bates Motel" Season 5 is now picking up the story of "Psycho." In the classic movie, Marion was on a run after she stole a big amount of money from her client, Goldderby reported. Unfortunately, she ended up at a roadside establishment where Norman had a chance to kill her in the shower.

Moreover, the previous four seasons revealed the story of Norman and his mother Norma (Vera Farmiga) before the events of "Psycho" took place. The chapter four's finale has shown Norman killed his mom in what-should-have-been a suicide of them both through carbon monoxide poisoning. As he survived the tragic incident, he will still see the evil ghost of Norma in "Bates Motel" Season 5, which will be seen on Feb. 20 on A&E.
