Angelina Jolie has finally opened up about her divorce from Brad Pitt, admitting that it's been 'difficult' to adjust to the new dynamic, but maintaining that they are both committed to giving their children the best lives possible amid the situation.

In an interview with BBC World News to discuss her latest project, First They Killed My Father, she briefly acknowledged her high-profile split from Pitt which went public in September and has gotten nasty with allegations against Pitt that he was abusive towards their six children, allegations that later went unfounded, and eventually led to the former couple seeking a private judge to handle the split.

In her brief mention of the drama, Jolie revealed that it was hard to endher marriage of two years with the man who was her partner for 12, but that she hopes one day they can move past everything, and regardless of their marriage not working out, they will always be a family with the kids.

"I don't want to say very much about that, except to say it was a very difficult time and... and we are a family and we will always be a family, and we will get through this time and hopefully be a stronger family for it," she said. "Many, many people find themselves in this situation. My whole, my family...we've all been through a difficult time. Myfocus is my children, our children...and my focus is finding this way through. We are and forever will be a family. I am coping with finding a way through to make sure that this somehow makes us stronger and closer."

The couple share six children together-their three eldest and adopted children, Maddox, Pax and Zahara, as well as their youngest three, who they conceived, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne.

Jolie speaking out comes on the heels of a story on Hollywood Life which claimed she was still fuming and angry at Pitt because she believed he had cheated on her with Marion Cotillard, his Allied co-star, despite both Pitt and Cotillard addressing the rumors head-on and slamming them as untrue.

"He swears blind that he didn't, but she refuses to believe him-she actually even threw back in his face the fact that they met and became close while he was still married to Jen[Aniston]," a source allegedly told the website. "Naturally Brad has his own version of what went down between them and still denies he cheated. He even thinks Angelina was using it as a convenient excuse and that she had wanted to end the marriage for months as they had been fighting a lot towards the end."

However, that report has been refuted by Gossip Cop.
