The season 2 finale of Revenge showed many moments between Emily Thorne and her sidekick best friend Nolan Ross, and viewers are left wondering what their relationship will be like when the show returns to ABC in the fall.

Emily is already in a love triangle - being engaged to Daniel Grayson while still loving her childhood friend Jack Porter. She pushed away Aidan Mathius in the season 2 finale but from the start of the show, audiences saw a connection between Emily and Nolan. It was hinted that Nolan perhaps had feelings for Emily past being just friends.

The duo spent some time apart in season 2 fighting the Falcon and The Initiative in their own ways, Nolan being motivated by his love for girlfriend Padma. The friends, however, will likely spent more time together in season 3 since Emily revealed her true identity to Jack and Nolan is one of the few people who knew the truth already.

Wetpaint spoke with actor Gabriel Mann about the future of Nolan and Emily, addressing the topic of a possible romance between the two.

"The person who understands his situation best is Emily, of course," Mann said. "And I just don't know if a romance is ever in the cards between the two of them, but they certainly understand each other. What form that relationship takes probably depends on how many years the show is on the air."

Man is happy with how far the friendship has played out on the show, saying, "what I find satisfying is watching the progress."

"We've now come to the point where we can come at each other with love instead of trying to kill each other. It's really satisfying to watch those relationships continue to evolve."

As their relationship does indeed continue to evolve, Mann added, "anything's possible. Who knows?"
