"Payday 3" is the upcoming franchise for Overkill Software this year. The upcoming game title will be release in the near future as game developers are taking all the necessary steps in developing the said game title.

According to Polygon, the "Payday 3" announcement was held at the Starbreeze Studios' year-end financial report, the mother company of Overkill Studios. Starbreeze Studios CEO Bo Anderson Klint mentioned that the game developers will be taking advantage of the time needed to produce the sequel.

"It is with great satisfaction that we also can announced that "Payday 3" production is officially initiated and at a full design stage" CEO Bo Anderson Klint said. Klint added that the FPS game title will be done when it's done and highlighted that the game franchise is its most important title as of late, the foundation of the company's business and such stature would be dealt accordingly.

With that said, it might come as a disappointing news for "Payday 3" fans, if the game developers does not have a clear release date. Take note that the "Payday 2" was release on August 2013, three and a half years ago.

With "Payday 3" not coming out for some time, Overkill Studios however, has been busy making new content for "Payday 2". The game developers has made more than 40 add-ons in all with the recent one, a "John Wick: Chapter 2" movie tie-in released last week.

Other than "Payday 3", Yibada reports that Starbreeze Studios is also developing "Psychonauts 2" with Double Fine to publish the said game. The company is looking forward to future ties with other publishers as Starbreeze Studios hinted that this will not be the last project the company will make.

Meanwhile, Overkill Studios is also developing a "Walking Dead" game title. However, the game developers did not specify on any concrete details as to what to expect on the zombie-themed game title.
