Huawei has announced recently that it will unveil Honor V9 on February 21 the week before MWC. The device has a ChinaMobile branding on its back, which indicates that, its China-exclusive status.

However, according to a company insider the device will go global just under a different name. The V9 will be rebranded to Honor 8 Pro and revealed at the Huawei event which is going to happen at MWC 2017 on February 27 in Barcelona.

The Huawei Honor V9 is powered by the octa-core Kirin 960, which is clocked at 2.4 GHz and has a 5.7" QHD display. The device's RAM options are 4GB and 6GB while storage options are 64 GB or 128 GB. Huawei Honor V9 has a massive 3,900 mAh battery and a fingerprint sensor on the back, according to GSM Arena.

The Huawei Honor V9 might feature a metal unibody design, according to BGR. Company is also expected to drop the Home button at the front panel. Furthermore, the iconic fingerprint sensor will be placed on the back side of the new handset.

Meanwhile, a previous teaser clip showed a fascinating background of ocean water. This only hints that the Huawei Honor V9 will be water resistant and poised to be listed as a high-end mobile gadget. Huawei's main strength this year is its dual camera setup on the rear end. Apparently, the Huawei Honor V9 or Honor 8 Pro will sport a 12MP and 2MP back cams to provide DSLR-like images.

Apart from the dual rear cameras, the Huawei Honor V9 will also feature an 8MP selfie cam. On the software front it will feature an Android 7.0 Nougat with Huawei's own Emotion UI 5.0 layered on top.

For the Huawei Honor V9's release, MWC is around the corner so if and when Huawei does launch then it should be around then only. According to the source, Huawei Honor V9 will go on sale in late March 2017. However, the pricing of the device is not yet confirmed.
