The news was officially confirmed just a short while ago that he's about to become a first-time father to twins with his wife, Amal, and now, George Clooney has broken his silence on the exciting news.

In an interview with the French program Recontres de Cinema (via The Daily Mail), Clooney opened up about the exciting news, which was previously confirmed by Julie Chen of The Talk, and later, his pal Matt Damon.

"We are really happy and really excited. It's going to be an adventure. We've sort of embraced it all with arms wide open," Clooney said.

Clooney also explained that while he does have some nerves about becoming a father for the first time at 56-years-old, which he will turn by the time his kids are born in June, he does feel inspired by other famous men who became fathers at even older ages than he is, so he no longer worries about it.

"So, I'm feeling a little better about being 56 by the time [they come]," he said.

The news was shocking to fans of the actor, despite rumors swirling for a while that his wife of over two years could be expecting when she was spotted wearing more loose clothing as opposed to the form-fitting designs she usually wore, because until meeting Amal, a human rights attorney, Clooney was a confirmed bachelor who was involved in some high-profile relationships, but refused to ever marry after his first marriage to Talia Balsam ended in 1993 after only five years.

They also aren't the only superstar celebrity couple that is currently expecting twins. Just weeks before their news was confirmed, Beyonce took to social media to share that she and Jay-Z were expecting twins together as well, their second and third children together, after daughter Blue Ivy. It is unclear when Beyonce is actually due.
