The sequel to the 2014 first-person shooter (FPS) game released by Bungie, "Destiny 2," is being expected to hit the international market sometime later in 2017. Activision, the publisher of the game series, has seemingly confirmed that the timeframe for the project's release is still on track.

Activision made the "Destiny 2" release time frame reconfirmation on its most recent investor call's slide. "Full Destiny sequel in 2017 to broaden the franchise's global reach, which along with follow-on content plans, sets the stage for growth," the company wrote.

The following message after the "Destiny 2" 2017 launch confirmation seems rather incomprehensible. However, BGR thinks that Bungie will eventually create downloadable contents (DLCs) support for the sequel, much like what the company did to its 2014 game.

Unfortunately, Bungie and Activision have yet to officially reveal any plans they have for "Destiny 2." Particularly the contents, storyline or even the sequel's possible appearance at the upcoming Entertainment Electronic Expo (E3 2017) event.

There are, however, speculations suggesting that the developer may actually attend E3 2017 in June. Bungie has always made huge impacts in the past E3 conventions, The Verge reported. More importantly, the company also announced the first installment at E3 2014, which makes the likelihood of them showing up this year with "Destiny 2" seems rather convincing.

It should be noted that this is just a speculation and it is in no way official. With that in mind, it is highly advisable to take this one with a tiny pinch of salt. More news or hints about "Destiny 2" should surface in the coming future, possibly a few weeks prior to the expected E3 2017 appearance.

Meanwhile, on different "Destiny" news, Mega Construx has announced a new toy set based on the popular franchise. The new toy set, called the Mega Construx Destiny Goliath Tank Strike, is coming to stores in fall 2017, possibly right around the same time as "Destiny 2."
