Xenoblade is the underdog of the JRPG genre. It has won the hearts of many through its imaginative characters populating its massive open world universe. Now, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 aims to be the next best bet for the Nintendo Switch when it releases later this year. Right now, the only thing that fans have been given is the trailer for Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

Monolith Soft is developing the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 for the Nintendo Switch, and the developers reportedly want to bring chibi like design elements to the game characters who have been inspired by Japanese animation, according to IGN. The game would be having an open world setting filled with quests to conquer and monsters to slay.

Right now, not much is known about the gameplay elements or the story of the game itself, other than the fact that it involves a new character searching for a place known as the Elysium. the who-what-why of the story is as of yet unknown. It is hoped that more would be known at the E3 2017 or through a Nintendo Switch related reveal.

As for the environment of the Xenoblade Chronicles 2, the game would be having massive proportions of flora and fauna, and since it is not bottlenecked on the Nintendo Switch, it is hoped that the game would have significant visual improvements over the previous game. In the first game, gamers got to face dangerous wildlife and beautiful environments on a planet moving through the sky.

In the trailer, viewers would get to see massive giants moving through the sky, towering over the playable character. The trailer also sheds some light on animals that can be ridden, which only validates the open world environment and that the world can be traversed on top of animals and vehicles.

As for the combat in Xenoblade Chronicles 2, the trailer doesn't shed enough light upon how the characters would fight and interact. Gamers should also keep in mind that the original game had a real time combat system.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has gamers hyped up and for good reasons. The previous game was a massive hit on the Wii U, and this time people want more of the wonderful universe created by Monolith Soft.
