It took less than five minutes for a buyer to snatch up the now famous Maybach featured in Kanye West and Jay-Z's "Otis" video.

The customized Maybach 57 sold for $60,000 last night, which may not seem like a high price considering it was the centerpiece of one of 2011's biggest videos. However, the auctioneer at Phillips de Pury did warn buyers the car was being "sold as a work of art, not a working vehicle."

A portion of the sale will benefit Save the Children, which helps children and their families around the world. "We are grateful to JAY Z and Kanye West for offering up pop culture history to do good for children in Africa," Carolyn Miles, president and CEO of Save the Children, said in a statement.

Maybachs, which range in price from $300,000 and upward, have become a staple in pop culture thanks to West and Jay-Z. Fellow rapper Rick Ross even named his music group (Maybach Music Group) after the luxury car.

The sale took place at Phillips de Pury's New York Contemporary Art Evening in New York.
