On Jan. 20, the favorite coming of age television sitcom led by Rowan Blanchard as Riley and Sabrina Carpenter as Maya officially ended. A lot of fans were left brokenhearted and now demanding for the return of "Girl Meets World" Season 4.

With the tremendous support they are receiving, the television series' showrunner Michael Jacobs is very hopeful that there will be "Girl Meets World" Season 4. The 61-year-old revealed he is not yet done telling the story of Riley, Maya and the entire group as there are more to come.

In fact, he, too, complains to Disney Channel for canceling "Girl Meets World" Season 4. "I don't think 'Girl should have been canceled. We signed to do four seasons," Michael Jacobs told The Wrap. As a matter of fact, he explained that he perfectly thought that they are going to continue telling stories until the fourth season.

Michael Jacobs further continued that that is the way they have set up the show, to have "Girl Meets World" Season 4. If given the chance, it should have been a "remarkable year" for the television series' entire cast and audiences.

Moreover, to air their side, Disney Channel also told the publication that the original contract of the series will only last for three seasons. With that, the renewal of "Girl Meets World" Season 4 is just optional. "The decision to not option a fourth season of 'Girl Meets World' was made after careful consideration of many factors," the network said in a statement.

However, as fans started to do online campaigns for other networks to pick up the show, Michael Jacobs revealed that there are already "interested platforms." In fact, they are now in discussions. The writer-producer also teased that they will soon announce the renewal in three to four months time.

This is because the talks for "Girl Meets World" Season 4 are still at early stages, TVLine reported. The demand and reaction of the audience to the show's cancellation made it, even more, a sought-after, thus there are other interested networks.
