Ashley Davenport was prominent in the season 2 finale of Revenge, being the mole helping Jack Porter carry out his revenge plot against the Grayson family, but her character will not return in season 3.

British actress Ashley Madekwe exit the ABC drama in the fall, Deadline reported on May 30. Her character was not picked up due to "storyline reasons."

Ashley was introduced as Victoria Grayson's (Madeleine Stowe) event planner and a friend to Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp). She then fell for Tyler (Ashton Holmes) and eventually managed to get into bed with both Conrad Grayson (Henry Czerny) and his son Daniel Grayson (Joshua Bowman). She dated Daniel and also played Conrad's assistant and then public relations person for his political campaign.

Madekwe confirmed news of her departure via Twitter on May 31.

"Yes it's true I'm leaving Revenge. I've LOVED playing Ashley Davenport but after 2 seasons there is no longer a story left for me to tell..." she tweeted. "I wasn't going to say anything as I didn't want to ruin the story for the lovely #Revengers but as it's been leaked anyway."

She added that Revenge writers are trying to come up with an "exit story" that she will play out on the show.

"My preference is that Ashley Davenport dies in a blaze of glory. Preferable whilst wearing Valentino couture....Or Chanel. I'm not fussy," she added.

Madekwe is not the only actor leaving the show; Connor Paolo's character, Declan Porter, was killed in the season 2 finale following an explosion at Grayson Global. He leaves behind his pregnant girlfriend, Charlotte Grayson.

Season three will premiere in the fall on ABC with a new showrunner, after creator Mike Kelley announced in April that he would be stepping down.
