Glee actress Charice Pempengco ended all speculations about her sexual preference and revealed that she is a lesbian during an interview in the Philipines on June 2.

The Filipino singer, who was discovered by Oprah Winfrey off of  Youtube talked to The Buzz, a Filipino television show, and confirmed details about her current lifestyle.

"Opo, tomboy po ako," Pempengco told host Boy Abunda, which means, "Yes, I'm a lesbian."

The interview with Boy ended with the singer in tears. She asked for forgiveness from her family and fans was not able to understand or accept her for who she is. The 21-year-old apologized to her mother, Raquel and brother, Carl. She confirmed that she had been distant from her family, and are waiting for them to accept her.

"To those who can accept me, thank you very much. We are all equal, whether you are gay or straight," she said. 

She added that her change in her style was not rebellious, but simply an outlet of who she really wants to be.

Pempengco revealed that she moved out of her house a month ago and is currently staying with a family in Cabuyao, Lugana.

After the interview, she posted a video to thank fans for their support after the news.

"I just wanna say thank you, personally... to all the people supporting me, to all the people who are still there for me," she said.

"Honestly, I'm very, very happy. I can't explain how happy I am right now hearing all [these] positive things."

As stated, Oprah gave Pempengco her big break and a household name.

In May 2008, Pempengco was invited to guest on The Oprah Winfrey Show, for a themed show called World's Smartest Kids. She sang I Have Nothing by Whitney Houston and recieved a standing ovation by the audience.
