"Westworld" is a complicated TV series, not because of its plot, but also because of the constant switch between the real world and the fantasy world. Because of this, the show has got a great amount of detail and a great array of costumes. However, despite this, a lot of the scenes show nudity.

Actress Thandie Newton, who plays a Maeve, a brothel madame in "Westworld", has detailed her experiences regarding the costumes and bare nudity. She describes that in her nude scenes she was completely comfortable and in her skin. It was the clothed up scenes she was having a tough time to deal with.

By her own admission, she said that the most potent objectification of a woman was the brothel madam's costume, which only conveyed an invitation for sex. According to Thandie, it was all about sensuality and eroticism.

The costume made some parts of the body more prominent and inviting than others, and as costume designer Ane Crabtree tells, this was the exact motive behind the brothel madam's costume.

All the costumes had to be justified and historically accurate against the backdrop of a western town. The colorful female outfits, as opposed to the dull male outfits, is what made the sets of Westworld colorful, but according to Thandie, it is all too effective. Thandie stressed on the fact that the outfits for the prostitutes turned the wearer into a sexually objectified doll, like it was meant to.

The "Westworld" star also said that the busty costume on her attracted a lot of unwanted and lewd attention on set, but the nude scenes saw her get treated with of respect. As such, Thandie feels more empowered as a woman in the nude scenes than in the brothel madam's outfit.

"Westworld" season 2 returns to airing in 2018. Stay tuned for more Westworld news and updates.
