A lot of fans are now getting excited for Rockstar Games' next entry in its popular open-world franchise, "GTA 6." However, the game developer has yet to make any official announcements regarding its existence. But there are rumors circulating, suggesting some of the features that it could come with.

One speculation, in particular, suggests "GTA 6" could have a unique storyline. As reported by PC Advisor, Rockstar Games could add a female protagonist as a playable character. If this turns out to be true, then the sixth franchise installment may actually offer a refreshing way to play the game.

One reason is that most - if not all - of the installment in the franchise has never featured a female protagonist. "GTA 6" might become the first one. If it does happen, this addition will make the sixth installment rather interesting.

As for its settings, though, word has it that "GTA 6" may not exactly move away from the location of its predecessor. San Andreas will still act as its backdrop for the storyline. But sadly, there are no additional details about it.

Another possible location for "GTA 6" to take place is the whole world. There are rumors suggesting that the sixth game may actually feature all of the maps that Rockstar Games have used in the past - like Liberty City from "GTA 3" and Vice City.

In terms of release date, fans are expecting "GTA 6" to come out to the market anytime between 2017 to 2020. There are some, however, who believe it won't possibly make it in the 2017 timeframe. Mic reported that Rockstar Games is currently giving its 100 percent focus to the upcoming "Red Dead Redemption 2." The sequel is being expected to come out later this year.

It should be noted that these details for "GTA 6" are still subject to confirmation. That being said, fans are highly advised to take these with a pinch of salt at least until an official update has been released.
