The Broadcast Television Journalists Association announced the six new series they are most looking forward to in the upcoming TV season.

After screening pilots and early episodes of shows set to premiere in the summer and fall, TV critics picked the six shows they're looking forward to the most, honoring them with Most Exciting Series awards.

The shows are as follows:

The Bridge - FX

A crime thriller set on the US-Mexico border, The Bridge stars Diane Kruger and Demian Bichir as detectives from different sides of the border forced to come together to catch a serial killer. The show will premiere on Wednesday, July 10 at 10 p.m. on FX.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - ABC

Clark Gregg reprises his role as Phil Coulson in this Marvel spinoff about the missions and adventures of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division. The show will air this fall on ABC Tuesdays at 8 p.m.

Masters of Sex - Showtime

Period comedy/drama Masters of Sex chronicles the discoveries of human sexuality as a science. It stars Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan as Dr. William Masters and Virginia Johnson. It will premiere on Sunday, September 29 at 10 p.m. on Showtime.

The Michael J. Fox Show - NBC

Michael J. Fox returns to television in this single-camera comedy loosely based off his life. The sitcom also stars Breaking Bad actress Betsy Brandt. The Michael J. Fox Show will air Thursdays at 9:30 p.m. this fall on NBC.

Ray Donovan - Showtime

Live Schreiber stars as a professional fixer in Hollywood who can "make anyone's problems disappear," except for those within his own family. The drama premieres Sunday, June 30 at 10 p.m. on Showtime.

Under the Dome - CBS

Based on a Stephen King novel of the same name, Under the Dome chronicles the lives of a small town living under an invisible force field. The show premieres Monday, June 24 on CBS.

Also honored at this year's Critics Choice Television Awards will be sitcom legend Bob Newhart. He is being given the Icon Award.

The 2013 Critics Choice Television Awards will be broadcast on UStream on Monday, June 10 at 8:00 p.m. Pacific Time. Parks and Recreation comedian Retta will host the ceremony.
