CBS has announced early renewals for 18 of its primetime TV shows, but the more compelling story may be what they haven't yet renewed.

It's good news for 16 CBS shows today, on top of the already-renewed The Big Bang Theory and NCIS. CBS announced the following shows to be renewed for the 2017-18 TV season:

Blue Bloods

Bull

Hawaii Five-0

Kevin Can Wait

Life in Pieces

MacGyver

Madam Secretary

Man with a Plan

Mom

NCIS

NCIS: Los Angeles

NCIS: New Orleans

Scorpion

Superior Donuts

Survivor

48 Hours

60 Minutes

This means that Bull, Kevin Can Wait, MacGyver, Man with a Plan and Superior Donuts have officially made it over the one-season hump, which can be notoriously difficult for new shows.

So what of the other CBS shows that did not get renewed? Fans already know that Katherine Heigl legal drama Doubt won't be back, and it's not looking good for Dermot Mulroney's medical drama Pure Genius either. There are quite a few shows still left in limbo, including some that have been around for quite a while:

The Amazing Race

Criminal Minds

Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders

Code Black

Elementary

The Great Indoors

Hunted

The Odd Couple

Training Day

Undercover Boss

2 Broke Girls

The most significant non-renewals so far appear to be Criminal Minds, currently in its 12th season, Elementary, currently in its fifth season, and 2 Broke Girls, currently in its sixth season. The Amazing Race seems to be in hot water too, considering CBS is only airing one season in the 2016-17 TV schedule compared to the usual two.

The Great Indoors, Hunted and Training Day are all in their first seasons and are very likely on the bubble at this point. Training Day is almost certainly done considering star Bill Paxton unexpectedly passed away on Feb. 25. The fates of Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, Code Black, The Odd Couple and Undercover Boss are unknown as well.
