Ryan Seacrest is said to be planning a reboot of "American Idol" anchoring Kanye West to replace Simon Cowell's place. In fact, there are surfacing reports that the 42-year-old star is now in discussion with Kim Kardashian's husband.

To recall, "American Idol" ended with 15 seasons in 2016 and NBC is now eyeing to revamp the show with West with the help of Seacrest. Harpers Bazaar reported that a source revealed that the executive producer of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" already placed his name to be the revived show's host and NBC is buying that idea.

The insider added that West is on the top of the wish list to be the next "American Idol" judge and not Simon Cowell. As a matter of fact, the "Gold Digger" hitmaker is said to be starting to consider the offer and now "grilling with the other fellow music coach Jennifer Lopez about the position.

Being a new judge of "American Idol" may not an easy stint for West, but the source added that the network's offer is very hard to refuse. "If Ryan hosting can help get them Kanye, that's a happy result for NBC."

However, some insider close to West revealed to TMZ that the reports about the negotiations between the father-of-two and "American Idol" people are not true. However, it is not yet revealed if there is actually an offer made by NBC asking him to join the reality television's cast.

Meanwhile, Daily Mail Online cited that if ever the deal pushes through, this is not the first time that West will be gracing "American Idol." To recall, the Yeezy fashion designer surprised everyone with a surprise audition in August 2015.

West performed an a cappella version of his 2005 hit song "Gold Digger" in "American Idol" in front of Keith Urban, Lopez and Harry Connick Jr. Of course, Kim was there to support her husband while being accompanied by Seacrest.
