Rebel Wilson's weight loss has been a hot issue since 2016. It was a tug of war between her fans who praised her for deciding to be healthy and those who accused her of succumbing to the pressures of Hollywood in terms of beauty and body standards. Wilson is all set to be seen in "Pitch Perfect 3" reprising her role as Fat Amy. However, a recent photo with the cast raised some controversy, specifically about body shaming.

According to Teen Vogue, a photo of Wilson together with some of the "Pitch Perfect 3" cast, drew some flak among the netizens. In the said photo, Rebel Wilson's weight loss was apparent but it seems like the fans noticed something else, specifically the discrepancy in the wardrobe.

According to Mail Online, while they were wearing the same striped fabric, fellow "Pitch Perfect 3" stars wore shoulder and arm-baring tops while Wilson wore the same blouse but with sleeves. This prompted fans to share their opinions that the choice of design for their wardrobe was somewhat body shaming. Many were confused as to why the Aussie actress had to wear a top with sleeves when she could rock the sleeveless look anytime, especially with the result of Rebel Wilson weight loss.

Apparently, the body shaming issue pertaining to the said photo and Rebel Wilson's weight loss got slightly out of hand which prompted the wardrobe designed of "Pitch Perfect 3," Salvador Perez to clear things out. Perez took to Twitter to explain their side of the story. "I let each actor decide how their costume fit, it was their choice, Rebel, Ester & Hana Mae wanted sleeves, #sleevegate," Perez explained.

On that note, controversies about body shaming linked to Rebel Wilson weight loss were put to an end. Fans were clearly happy that it was Wilson's choice to wear sleeves and no one had actually forbidden her to flaunt her arms and shoulders.
