It was way back in May last year when HTC has revealed its roadmap for the Android 7.0 release and HTC One M8 was not included in the list. Surprisingly T-Mobile has publicized that this handset will obtain the said OS but now the US carrier has revoked that information.

According to Phone Arena, it was really astonishing when T-Mobile announced that it has finished testing Android 7.0 Nougat for the HTC One M8. The US carrier further stated that the said firmware update should now be accessible for download.

Many were surprised as the three-year-old smartphone which was launched in March 2014 is still obtaining a major software update like Android 7.0 Nougat. Nevertheless, if this information from T-Mobile is just a mistake, it is notable that HTC has decided to still support the HTC One M8.

It is worth mentioning that T-Mobile and a limited number of other carriers in the US have rolled out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow to the HTC One M8 almost a year ago. Also, it was on March 24, 2017, when T-Mobile delivered the news through its online support page informing that the HTC One M8 owners could already download Android 7.0 Nougat.

Unluckily, Neowin has learned that the much-anticipated release of Android 7.0 Nougat to HTC One M8 will not happen. As a matter of fact, T-Mobile representative has told The Android Soul that the One M8 page had been incorrectly upgraded with references to the Android Nougat update. The representative further stated that the error will becorrected soon.

With this correction that was made by the T-Mobile representative, it just indicates that the Android 7.0 Nougat will not reach the HTC One M8 handsets under the mobile carrier. Nonetheless, can be remembered that T-Mobile's last major OS upgrade for the One M8 was Android 6.0 Marshmallow which arrived in March 2016.
