Taylor Swift took to the stage Wednesday the 2013 CMT Music Awards with a performance of her single Red, the track off her latest album with the same name.

The Music Awards was held at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn. For the performance Swift wore a custom corseted, black and red dress and shorts, with Laduca boots. She also rocked a red electric guitar. Click here for photos of her on stage.

The 23-year-old singer was nominated for Female Video of the Year during the show but lost to Miranda Lambert, who took home a total of two awards Wednesday night. She was also up for Video of the Year for We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, but the respective award was given to Carrie Underwood for Blown Away.

"About to head to the CMT Awards. Got @austinswift7 with me. If you want to watch, it'll be on CMT (as referenced in the title of the show)," Swift tweeted before the show.

The singer walked the red carpet Wednesday night in a cream-colored, strapless silk georgette embroidered dress with an asymmetrical hemline from Elie Saab's spring/summer 2013 collection. She wore her hair half back and paired the dress with peep-toe booties that matched the color of the dress. To end off the look she wore red nail polish and soft pink lipstick, with sultry eye shadow. See a photo here.

Kristen Bell and Jason Aldean hosted the night and other performers who took to the stage included Florida Georgia Line, Nelly, Hunter Hayes and Luke Bryan. Underwood dedicated her song See You Again to everyone in her home state of Oklahoma struggled to recover from the devastation of recent tornadoes to hit the area.
