Ever since "Game of Thrones" season 7 was teased a couple of months back, people have been impatiently waiting for the series to return to the screen, while also waiting for George R.R. Martin's new book "Winds of Winter." While the plot details of the book aren't known as of now, people expect that the book would coincide with the TV series.

Some "Winds of Winter" rumors say that the sixth installment of the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series would not be released before the release of "Game of Thrones" season 7. George R.R. Martin hinted that he might not be able to finish the book this year, as he has a lot of work to do.

It is worth noting that "Winds of Winter" release date was in 2016, which got pushed back to 2017. Some "Winds of Winter" rumors claimed that Martin had already finished writing the book, but the writer's own words say otherwise.

George R.R. Martin also said that he would be announcing the book months before it went into publication. Other "Winds of Winter" release date rumors claim that the book would be releasing On George R.R. Martin's 70th birthday, which is on September 20.

While it might have been possible that the New Mexican writer has hit writer's block, it simply doesn't seem to be the case, as explained by George R.R. Martin. The last "A Song of Ice and Fire" book came out in 2011, and according to George R.R. Martin, he has a lot of plot points to tie up.

According to some "Winds of Winter" rumors, the sixth installment would focus on key characters like Barristan Selmy, Sansa Stark, Arya Stark and Cersei Lannister. This might be true, as actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau recently revealed that Cersei might have a suitor in "Game of Thrones" season 7, and rumors claim it might be Euron Greyjoy.

George R.R. Martin seems to also be working with StageCoach to help aspiring and local film-makers to land big. The foundation is also working closely with a couple of Hollywood projects. Moreover, the "A Dance of Dragons" writer himself might be tied to HBO for an upcoming and yet undisclosed project.
