NBC has given the green light for "Will And Grace" Season 9. The series was originally picked up for a 10-episode installment but upon further meetings, NBC has decided to extend the series by another two episodes.

The return of "Will And Grace" Season 9 is a delight for the fans who have been patiently waiting for the Emmy-award winning series to get back on the small screen. The original cast are still very much intact with Debra Messing, Megan Mullally, Sean Hayes and Eric McCormack all set to reunite on set.

According to Deadline, the announcement of "Will And Grace" quickly became NBC's top assets for the next season. In fact, the upcoming series is already featured in the NBCUniversal's upfront spots which are basically where the network lays out its portfolio and other offerings to advertisers and possible partners.

The revival of "Will And Grace" was initiated thanks to an election-themed mini-episode basically encouraging the viewers to go out and vote. However, NBC was not actually part of the mini-reunion episode. Nonetheless, the success of the "Will And Grace" episode that aired on Sept. 26, 2016 definitely caught the attention of the network, hence, the 12-episode revival.

According to TV Guide, the new "Will And Grace" Season 9 episodes are expected to take off a decade from the time the characters were last seen on air. Of course, a time jump is expected and is the only logical way to showcase how much the characters have changed and arrived at where they are now.

Aside from the original cast of characters agreeing to return to the well-loved American sitcom, the original creators, directors and producers - Max Mutchnick, David Kohan and James Burrows, are also joining in on the ride.
