AMC's "The Walking Dead" Season 7 did not end with a cliffhanger. The season finale episode, titled "The First Day of the Rest of Your Life," helped the show open up the much-awaited arc: "All-Out War."

According to The Daily Beast, the three rising colonies, Alexandria, Hilltop and The Kingdom, have all joined arms to defeat the menacing group, The Saviors led by the tyrant Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) in "The Walking Dead" Season 7 finale. Unfortunately, the surprise attack initiated by the Hilltop and The Kingdom was not entirely a huge success as Negan and the rest of the Saviors managed to flee along with some members of the Junkyard Gang.

While the event may come off as a victory to Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and the group, it does come with a price. The firefight between the Saviors and the Alexandrians in "The Walking Dead" Season 7 wouldn't have happened if it weren't for Sasha's (Sonequa Martin) sacrifice - she took a pill made by Eugene (Josh McDermitt) moments before they arrived in Rick's location.

Despite all of that, some fans still think the finale episode seems a bit rushed or even predictable, based on the Twitter post they made hours after it aired.

However, there are those who think that "The Walking Dead" Season 7 in general seems a bit long in terms of run time. Screenrant noted that four episodes in the season have had over an hour run time, which makes it unnecessary in regards to the plot. It did not help the story to advance that made it somehow dragging.

No official word yet on how "The Walking Dead" Season 8 will turn up plot-wise. But it has already been teased that fans can certainly expect a time jump in the story much like what happened in the comic.
