Tim Duncan and estranged wife, Amy Duncan's divorce proceedings may be postponed until after the San Antonio Spurs play the Miami Heat in the NBA finals championship series.

TMZ first reported that Tim requested to postpone the divorce proceedings until after the last Spur's playoff game, and it seems as if his wish was granted. Reports indicated that the playoffs could last up until June 20, if the series goes to Game 7.

Tim and Amy who were college sweethearts at Wake Forest University, wed back in 2011.

The San Antonio Express-News reported that the Spurs center and his wife recently filed papers for divorce. According to documents obtained by the publication, the divorce was filed over two months ago in a San Antonio court that included only the initials A.S.D. and T.T.D. The 37-year-old basketball player's middle name is Theodore.

Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs, who was not granted home court advantage in the NBA finals will travel to Miami for the first game of the series.

The Miami Heat barely escaped the Eastern Conference finals, slipping away with a Game 7 win against the Indiana Pacers. The Spurs didn't have much difficulty as they breezed past the Memphis Grizzlies in just four games. They have spent the last 10 days waiting on the Miami Heat to finish up the Eastern Conference series.

The teams two leading players--Tim and Lebron James both want to win a championship title more than anything.

James has averaged 26.2 points, 8.5 rebounds and 6.7 assists in the playoffs, and hasn't gotten much help from his other franchise teammates--Chris Bosh or Dwyane Wade.

Despite their lack of production, Wade said James is "hungry" for another championship.

"He's not relaxed. He still wants to win again," Dwyane Wade said of James on Wednesday.

James won't be playing in the finals withouth going out with a fight.

"That's what I play the game for, is to win championships," James said, according to the Los Angeles Times. "I understand that it's a long process, more difficult than anything I've ever had to do with playing basketball. That's what I'm here for."

Tim, is going for his 5th NBA title.
