Fans of the popular BBC TV series, Sherlock, will surely be excited to find out that the program is now slated to return in October for its third season.

However, in the midst of it all, set photos from the upcoming installment have now surfaced on the Internet, featuring the likes of Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock Holmes) and Martin Freeman (Dr. John Watson).

Two of the pictures show Dr. Watson while another reveals Sherlock. A third photo shows the production team appearing to get ready for a shot in front of some sort of official building.

Nonetheless, the painfully long hiatus from Season 2 has kept fans itching to get their hands any info they can pertaining to the mystery crime drama.

Sherlock Creator Steven Moffatt recently addressed what he feels draws audiences to the popular British TV series, according to International Digital Times.

"Conan Doyle's stories were never about frock coats and gas light; they're about brilliant detection, dreadful villains and blood-curdling crimes -and frankly, to hell with the crinoline.  Other detectives have cases, Sherlock Holmes has adventures, and that's what matters," he explained.

BBC's Sherlock will be making its return for Season 3 on Thursday, October 31.  Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest details on the TV series.
