Videos of the massive fight that broke out between Spirit Airlines customers, airline employees, and sheriff's deputies at the Hollywood International Airport in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. were drawing increased attention in social media on Tuesday as the airline blamed its pilots for the multiple flight cancellations.

Spirit Airlines has cancelled 300 flights in the past week. The hysteria quickly escalated to a borderline riot situation when the airline cancelled 9 more flights late Monday. Security was called in to try and assuage the crowd, but things only got more violent and the police were quickly drawn into the fighting. In the end, three people were arrested according to the Associated Press. The incidents were documented in various videos across social media.

"We sincerely apologize to our customers for the disruption and inconveniences they have suffered. We believe this is the result of intimidation tactics by a limited number of our pilots affecting the behavior of the larger group. We are also shocked and saddened by the events that took place yesterday at Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport and at other airports across our network," said Paul Berry, Spirit Airlines' spokesman in a statement Tuesday.

On Tuesday, a federal court granted Spirit Airlines a temporary restraining order compelling the pilots’ union to get back to work. The pilot's union said the Spirit Airlines' pilots will fully comply with the order, according to the Washington Post.

More than 200,000 passengers have been affected by the flight disruptions in the past week.

The afformentioned videos that have been making their rounds across social media paint a horrfic picture at the scene of the fight. Among acts of violence and screaming, the videos show some of the arrests being made. Spirit airlines is reportedly going to be taking legal action against the pilots who refused to work.

Spirit Airlines says it has cancelled 300 Spirit flights over the past week. This incident follows a string of other airline related situations involving companies such as Delta and United airlines. The fear of abuse by airline companies has been building in consumers in recent days. With Spirit being the latest victim of a negative event such as this one, other airlines will likley be bumping up their protective measure to ensure that they don't get stuck with a similar situation.
