Fans of the hit television show, Modern Family, know Ariel Winter for her hilarious portrayal of Alex Dunphy, but with the show now going on for eight years a calm and confident young lady has emerged.

Discussing her career on a recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, Winter shimmers with a collected grace.

"They definitely treat me like an adult now," she explained when asked by Kimmel about how she is treated on set now that she is older. "I mean, I think it is a little weird for them, that we're, you know, we started on this show when we were ten and eleven-years-old and we were running around with Nerf guns and being crazy, and not really doing anything adult-like. And now that we're all, you know, semi-adults, they definitely treat us different."

When it comes to those aforementioned Nerf guns, Winter shakes her head and says "we kinda retired those." Describing her other co-starts who have also grown up on set. Winter described how one in particular has also made some big changes. "Nolan started, you know, liking girls," Winter explained cracking a grin.

Modern Family has been on the air for eight years now, and is scheduled to continue for at least two more. ABC announced recently the show's renewal through season 10. The show premiered in 2009 and has received rave reviews from fans and critics. At its peak, the show's seasons have seen an average of over twelve million viewers. Season eight's finale is currently scheduled to wrap up on May 17.
