While many had been predicting for weeks that country singer from Team Blake, Lauren Duski, would be the winner last night at The Voice's season 12 finale, Team Alicia's Chris Blue won the title in a very close race.

After a night of star-studded performances from celebrities such as Usher, Alessia Cara and Gladys Knight among others, Blue broke down in tears as he was declared the winner over Duski and promptly showered in confetti. Other results for the finale saw Aliyah Moulden from Team Blake finish in third place and Jesse Larson from Team Adam in fourth.

Struggling to make it through his coronation song, Blue embraced Duski as the credits began to roll, ending an incredible season.

Previously in the night, celebrities performed duets with the top four, such as Moulden and Cara.

Additionally, previously eliminated contestants were also brought back to perform with the stars. TSoul and Vanessa Ferguson were paired up with Knight.

The most notable celebrity duet came when Blue and Usher joined forces for an incredible performance of Everybody Hurts, by R.E.M.

Many people across social media are both happy and surprised by the results last night. Earlier today, Duski held the number one spot on Itunes with her new single Deja Vu, while her cover song, The Dance, by Garth Brooks, sat at number three. Blue's single Money On You took the number two spot. In previous weeks Duski seemed to be outselling Blue, which adds to the shocking factor of these results.

The Voice returns for season 13 in the upcoming fall on NBC. Along with coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, Jennifer Hudson and Miley Cyrus will be rounding out the panel.
