Things have certainly got ugly between Chris and Karrueche Tran as she has filed a restraining order against him. Now, the latest of their legal battle has made headlines.

It was first said that Tran “lost” her most recent battle in the war against her former longtime boyfriend, Brown. But according to Bossip, there was simply a delay in the case, the site reported earlier Thursday.

Apparently the head of Brown’s legal team requested a recess as Brown made clams that Tran never actually served him with the papers. The singer and actor’s lawyer added that the case should be tossed out altogether because Tran wasn’t present. Instead, she was in New Orleans filming her latest film. While she could speak by phone, it was noted that Brown wasn’t present either.

Ultimately the judge decided that Brown was actually given the necessary court papers for Tran to move forward. But it also sided with Brown and granted him and his legal team more time to prepare.

Tran is scheduled to take the stand on June 15 for an evidentiary hearing. There are other witnesses who will reportedly testify as well as news that Brown will also share his side of the story for the court.

An insider said of Tran’s restraining order against Brown, “She wanted him to stop threatening her and sending people to threaten her. She has been doing really well on set. We’re just trying to get this chapter closed so she can move on.”

Train filed a permanent restraining order against Brown with claims that he had physically assaulted her during their relationship that lasted for years.

Reports also say that a judge scolded Brown for not showing up to court and had a few words with his lawyers for not coming prepared. Tran’s friend, J. Ryan LaCour, has also requested a restraining order against Brown. They have both been granted temporary orders and are hoping to get a permanent one.
