One of the newest faces of VH1’s Basketball Wives, Aja Metoyer, has finally broken her silence on her past with NBA star Dwyane Wade.

Fans might remember Metoyer, who had a child with Wade when he was said to be dating actress Gabrielle Union. It was then reported that he only hooked up with Metoyer when he and Union were on a break, suggesting that he really didn’t cheat on Union. But Metoyer is now telling a different story.

“My son’s not a break baby,” she said in an interview with Bossip earlier this week. “I’m not a side chick or a homewrecker. I would love for people to be able to relate to me as though I’m their sister or their friend. Life happens and sometimes you get dealt [crappy] cards and you just do the best you can do and make lemonade out of lemons.”

Fans will be seeing more of Metoyer and her life as a mother to baby Xavier as she has officially joined the cast of Basketball Wives.

She went on to shut down claims that she is “bitter” about Union and Wade’s marriage and happiness.

“I’m actually extremely happy,” she said. “I’m dating and I’m really into the person that I’m with right now. Life is great for me and all my kids.”

Metoyer also used the interview as an opportunity to clear up how she really met Wade, who she refers to as “the other person” and her former boyfriend, actor Damon Wayans Jr.

“We’ve known each other since I was 12… And the other person, I’ve known for 10 years plus… We’re from a huge group of friends. We’ve been friends for a very long time. There’s no getting, there’s no anything. It’s like you meet the boy next door and y’all have been neighbors for years. It seems messy but if you compare it to any other situation, it's no beef. Everybody’s good. Everyone’s extremely happy.”
