Ariana Grande announced on Twitter today that she will be holding a benefit concert Sunday June 4, in Manchester's Emirates Old Trafford stadium. The concert will be a vehicle to raise money and show support for the victims of the terror attack that took place last week. Singers Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Neil Horan, Usher, Pharrell Williams and british band Coldplay are also performing.

"My heart, prayers and deepest condolences are with the victims of the Manchester Attack and their loved ones," Grande said in a previous statement. "There is nothing I or anyone can do to take away the pain you are feeling or make this better. However, I extend my hand and heart and everything I possibly can give to you and yours, should you want or need my help in any way."

Since Grande made the announcement, the hashtag "OneLoveManchester" has been a trending topic on social media platforms. Reception to the benefit has drawn strong praise for Grande.

"I am sorry for the pain and fear that you must be feeling and for the trauma that you, too, must be experiencing," Grande went on to say. "We will never be able to understand why events like this take place because it is not in our nature, which is why we shouldn't recoil. We will not quit or operate in fear."

All proceeds from the concert will be allocated to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund created to aid the families and victims of the attack.

Ever since the attack, troubling details have emerged about the attacker, Salman Abedi. In addition to having a criminal history of assault and theft, Abedi was said to have traveled to Syria, where his religious ideas became radicalized. For Grande, this concert hopes to ease the suffering and allow people the opportunity to come together and grieve.
