Kathy Griffin was just fired by CNN for a photo of her holding a bloody, beheaded image of Donald Trump. This means she will not be hosting New Year's Eve for 2018 with Anderson Cooper. Griffin's apology was not enough for the network to take her back.

According to TMZ, Anderson Cooper is in complete shock of Griffin's actions.

"For the record, I am appalled by the photo shoot Kathy Griffin took part in. It is clearly disgusting and completely inappropriate."

Griffin has been doing the New Year's Eve special since 2007. Her actions led to the network firing her and looking for a replacement to be alongside Cooper.

"CNN has terminated our agreement with Kathy Griffin to appear on our New Year's Eve program," the network said in a tweet that was posted on Wednesday.

The shocking photo of Kathy Griffin holding a stoney replica of Donald Trump's head covered in blood, caused controversy on both sides of the political spectrum after it was posted on Tuesday. "I sincerely apologize," she said in a video that she posted on Twitter Tuesday night. "I am just now seeing the reaction of these images. I'm a comic. I crossed the line. I move the line, then I cross it. I went way too far. The image is too disturbing. I understand how it offends people. It wasn't funny. I get it."

A CNN spokesperson said on Tuesday that the network "found what she did disgusting and offensive."

"Kathy Griffin should be ashamed of herself," Trump tweeted about the photo on Wednesday. "My children, especially my 11-year-old son Barron, are having a hard time with this. Sick!"

First Lady, Melania Trump, also criticized the photo. "When you consider some of the atrocities happening in the world today, a photo opportunity like this is simply wrong and makes you wonder about the mental health of the person who did it," she said in a statement.

CNN is not the only corporation avoiding Griffin, Squatty Potty declared they were pulling ads away from her as well.
