Megyn Kelly has scored what many considered impossible: a one-on-one interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The segment will air on her NBC news magazine show Sunday Night this week.

On Thursday, Kelly confirmed that the interview was happening. The former Fox News anchor is prepared to conduct a forum that will take place in St. Petersburg, Russia, on Friday as part of the International Economic Forum. After the forum, Kelly and Putin will sit down and have their discussion.

"So we just got word this morning that President Putin has agreed to sit with yours truly for a one-on-one interview at the conclusion of tomorrow's forum and I'll get the chance to ask him directly about these allegations of meddling and the prospect of our two countries working together, and beyond. So, that oughta be fun," Kelly said on NBC's Today show.

Kelly mentioned that she would press the Russian president on allegations that forces in his nation waged a deliberate campaign to interfere with the U.S. presidential election through hacking of the Democratic National Committee email server and by disseminating false news reports across the Internet.

Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly debuts this Sunday at 7 p.m. against CBS' 60 Minutes. Kelly will be given the opportunity to prove herself since she is going against the CBS classic show. Although, having a one-on-one interview with Russian President, Vladimir Putin, seems hard to compete against.
