Alyssa Milano recently revealed that she was inspiration behind the looks of Ariel in Disney's The Little Mermaid.

Milano is currently promoting her new show Mistresses, but she let slip the little tidbit while on the Wendy William's Show this past Wednesday.

"I didn't know that when it was going on," Milano confessed. "But they asked me to host 'The Making of The Little Mermaid,' and it came out there that the drawing and likeness of the little mermaid was based on pictures of me from when I was younger."

Although she may have been missing the bright red hair of Ariel, there had been speculation about her likeness to the young singing mermaid. However, it was later revealed that animator Glen Keane, who was responsible for creating Ariel's image, used Milano's features circa her time on Who's The Boss, according to Yahoo!.

Milano is not the only celebrity to be used as a conceptual start for a Disney character. Yahoo! revealed that a combination of Michael J. Fox and Tom Cruise's features went into the drawing of the young vagabond Aladdin. Meanwhile the relatively unknown 1940s actress Helene Stanley was the basis for the ever-popular classic Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty.

Milano can be seen on Mistresses when it airs Mondays at 10 p.m. on ABC.
