When he isn't touring around the world or spending time working on new music, Ed Sheeran enjoys a good drink in the company of other celebrities.

In a Carpool Karaoke session with James Corden, Sheeran recently shared a story from when he was drinking with Justin Bieber.

According to The Guardian, the night started off innocent enough, but everything changed when they moved from a bar to a golf course.

"We were in Japan. We'd been out to a dive bar," Sheeran explained. "He just drank water and I got hammered. Then we went to a golf course, and he lay on the floor and put a golf ball in his mouth and told me to hit it out of his mouth. I was like, 'F--k, I need to aim this properly,' and I swung."

Sheeran continued to explain the horrible sound and feeling he got after doing the act.

"And you know in films when someone gets punched, and you hear that fake sound, like a slap? But in real life when someone gets punched, you hear that dull thud, a bit sickening?" Sheeran elaborated. "I heard a sound like the last one and saw his security guard looking at me. I'd cracked Justin Bieber right in the cheek with a golf club. That was one of those 'What the f--k?' moments."

Sheeran said that things turned out okay though between him and Bieber.

"I cracked him across the face!" Sheeran cheekily said. "But he was actually really cool about it."
