James Hardy III, ex-Buffalo Bills receiver, was found dead by a city employee in the Maumee River in Indiana yesterday.

Hardy was 31-years-old when he passed. The former NFL star was reported missing on May 30 by his family.

His death comes as a shock to his former players who remember him as a good man.

According to TMZ, the former Baltimore Ravens player's body appeared to have been in the water for several days before it was found.

An investigation is currently being done and a cause of death has not yet been affirmed.

"We are saddened to learn of the passing of James Hardy today," said in a statement by the Buffalo Bills. "We send our condolences to the Hardy family as they deal with this tragic loss."

Due to his hard work on the field, Hardy ran into some issues because of it.

In 2014 Hardy was arrested for unhinged behavior when he attacked three police officers in a drunken rage.

As a result, he was committed to a mental hospital after a judge declared that he wasn't mentally stable enough to stand trial.
