Greg Rikaart celebrated his 10 year anniversary on the Young and the Restless as the character Kevin Fisher this week.

Rikaart ended his stint on Dawson's Creek when he joined the CBS soap opera in the summer of 2003. The character quickly became a foil as a sexual predator against the naïve Lily who contracted chlamydia from him. Kevin's actions soon turned even more life threatening when he tried to kill Lily's best friend, Colleen. After a few stints in jail, redemption was on the horizon because of the suffering he endured through his father "Terrible Tom". Rikaart was awarded the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2005.

Rikaart acknowledged his stint as the reformed bad boy who may be returning to his roots on Twitter. He noted how it all began with a simple shirt.

"10yrs ago today, Kevin 1st arrived in GC wearing a Hawaiian shirt & w/ more baby fat #gratefulforthisincredibleride," he tweeted Friday.

The 36-year-old actor gave an in depth interview to On-Air On-Soaps. He shared his thoughts on the role which made him part of the fabric of Genoa City for a decade in the article which was published Friday. He explained how his role went from being contracted to only from mere weeks and turned into years.

"When I first got to Y&R I was supposed to be here for a couple of weeks and that became a year, and after my first week, I already drank the Kool-Aid. I am happy to be here as long as they will have me," the actor said.

Rikaart also touched on the passing of Y&R icon Jeanne Cooper who died in May at the age of 84. He lauded the actress as redefining what it meant to be an elder in the tribe. He spoke of cherishing their friendship.

"She was absolutely wise and someone to be revered, but she had this vitality and youthfulness about her that I was in constant awe of," he said. "I have never had a friend that was 84 year old, and it never felt like I had a friend that was 84 years old."

Rikaart teased what could next for his character's marital status with Chloe. For the past year, it has been wedded bliss for the couple but Kevin has started to drift back to his former ways. The former jailbird has been stealing from others and even let his wife take the blame. It notched up the tension between the characters. He confirmed that a break up was imminent between Chloe and Kevin.

"What I like about what is happening on the show is that it is a slow burn. It's really taken awhile, which is how things and relationships happen. Relationships, more often than not, do not fall apart over night," he said.
