Nicholas Hoult has unleashed the animal in him while on the set of X-Men: Days of Future Past.

The British actor was seen getting into his character as Beast while filming in Montreal on Thursday. In the scene, Beast is fighting Magneto, who is played by actor Michael Fassbender, in a fountain. See a full gallery of photos here

When asked about his character in a 2011 interview with BleedingCool.com, the actor expressed love for his on-screen character.

"Someone asked me which power I would like most if I could get any of them. I think that either telepathy or teleporting would be my favorite powers to have. As a character, I find Beast is fantastic, he is my favorite in a way. There's this inner tension, because he's a scientist, and a careful man, and a worldly man, and he has this crazy exterior. He's scary," he said.

Jennifer Lawrence's ex-boyfriend, who also played in the prequel X-Men: First Class, also told the entertainment website what it takes to turn into the muscular blue character.

"Before the transformation, when I'm just Hank, that's me and there's some CGI on the feet and toes. And then, once the transformation to Beast takes place, that's four hours of make-up and prosthetics with a full mask and wigs and fur and a big rubber muscle suit. That's quite a transformation," he said.

The cast also includes Lawrence as Mystique, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Ellen Page as Shadowcat and Halle Berry as Storm. The fantasy movie revolves around the X-Mens' attempt to travel in time to prevent an incident that could negatively impact, not only mankind, but their species as well.

The film, directed by Bryan Singer, will hit U.S. theaters on July 18, 2014.
