Many fans woke up on Father's Day with news of Beyoncé giving birth to her and Jay-Z's twin babies. As the day progressed, there were reports that the two infants stayed in the hospital longer than expected.

Apparently, the twins have to stay in the hospital for an extra week after doctors discovered a small issue, TMZ reported Sunday afternoon. It's not clear what the problem is, but an insider told the publication it was "minor."

Beyoncé is said to be doing just fine after giving birth and the babies, while in the hospital, are doing "okay" too.

It also might be safe to say that Beyoncé and Jay-Z welcomed a boy and a girl this time around.

One woman was seen Friday at the Los Angeles hospital carrying pink, purple and blue flowers along with two huge baby foot-shaped balloons. They read, "Baby Boy," E! News reported over the weekend.

One observer said the mystery woman went into the building and then drove to the underground parking lot. She returned without the flowers and while it's speculated that they could really be for anyone who welcomed twins, the woman had a card that read, "B&J."

People magazine broke the news about Beyoncé and Jay-Z welcoming the twins late Saturday night.

"Bey and Jay are thrilled and have started sharing the news with their family and closest friends," one source confirmed.

Beyoncé's father, Mathew Knowles, also sparked controversy on Twitter when he confirmed the news.

"They're here!" he wrote. "#beyonce #twins #jayz #happybirthday.... Love, Granddad."

Beyoncé took to social media in February and revealed that she and Jay-Z were expanding their family. Word spread that it would be a boy and a girl as she wore a pink ribbon on her bra and blue bottoms.
