Gwen Stefani won't be featured during the upcoming season of The Voice but her boyfriend, Blake Shelton, will.

As production begins with Jennifer Hudson, Adam Levine, Miley Cyrus and Shelton, Stefani is focused on her own career and her family, including her sons Kingston, 11, Zuma, eight, and Apollo, three.

"Blake has been and will continue to work on The Voice for the rest of the week and Gwen has let him do his thing," a source close to the couple told Hollywood Life on Wednesday. "The workday is all day for Blake and it is just giving Gwen time to herself and her kids."

Stefani and Shelton began dating while filming season nine of the NBC singing competition.

At the time, the couple was fresh off of splits from Gavin Rossdale, the father of Stefani's children, and Miranda Lambert.

"He still texts her and is in contact but it's not a big deal that they are a part for a bit," the source continued. "They are taking the temporary time away from each other as a good thing...They relish their own time as much as they relish their time together."

Stefani and Shelton have appeared on The Voice together for three seasons but now, Stefani is sitting out.

As for her future with the show, it is hard to say when Stefani will return. Although, her relationship with Shelton appears strong as Shelton remains in Los Angeles for filming.

As fans may have noticed, Stefani and Shelton have made a point to be supportive of one another throughout their evolving careers and when it comes to the future, fans are waiting on the edge of their seats for an engagement.

The Voice season 13 on Wednesday, October 4, at 8 p.m. on NBC.
