With rumors circulating that Come & Get It singer Selena Gomez is dating Gucci Mane, the rapper took the opportunity in a recent interview to deny the reports while complimenting the 20-year-old. 

The two singers starred together in 2012's Spring Breakers and since then, reports have linked them to be dating. However, in a recent interview with Fader, Mane laid the rumors to rest. He added that he does not understand how such "a crazy cruel rumor" began in the first place, since at the time Gomez might still have been dating Justin Bieber.

"I think she was dating Justin Bieber at the time. Really I don't have no idea what was going on with Selena Gomez," he said. "Cause I only know her briefly from doing the Spring Breakers movie, and from what I know of her she's a nice young lady. I don't know her personally, I never dated her."

The Servin' singer ended off by saying he wishes Gomez the best. He also called her "a talented actor and a nice girl" that he "never" dated.

Gomez reportedly rekindled her romance with Bieber after breaking up in late 2012. An insider said Gomez is "being careful" "trying to be levelheaded" so as not to get her heart broken again. The pair were tapped hugging and kissing backstage at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards on May 19, but are reportedly taking their relationship slow. Sources close to the couple said in late May they might be giving their relationship another go, but Bieber has to work hard on regaining Gomez's trust.

"She has told him that if he f***s with her emotions too much, she will drop him," a source said
