Although a brunt of the Internet chatter surrounding FX's Sons of Anarchy has been related to its upcoming sixth installment, recent buzz has surfaced regarding a potential prequel following the biker TV series' eventual wrap.

While Sons creator Kurt Sutter hasn't been shy about expressing interest in the creative topic, the potential series is seemingly just in the "idea" stage, according to Carter Matt.

However, Sutter himself did elaborate to Deadline on the prequel while rubbing shoulders at the Produced By Conference last weekend.

"Right now, it is just conversations ... I want to let the property rest for a year or so after Sons is over before jumping in ... I don't know if it will be a series or a limited series of say 10 to 13 episodes.  I don't want to do a movie - tonally, I don't see it as a movie," he explained.

Sons of Anarchy is set to premiere its sixth season on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 10/9 p.m. Central on the FX network.  Only time will truly tell is the green light is given on the potential prequel.
