Golnesa "GG" Gharachedaghi is suffering from rheumatoid arthritis and in a new interview, her Shahs of Sunset co-star is opening up about her struggles.

Following a number of rumors last season which suggested Gharachedaghi may have been exaggerating her symptoms, Shervin Roohparvar is speaking out on her behalf.

“Last season there was some questioning about [her] illness, but this season there’s no doubt that she definitely has, unfortunately, a very difficult, disgusting hereditary disease,” Roohparvar told Radar Online of her battle with rheumatoid arthritis. “It’s an autoimmune disease and it sucks.”

As Roohparvar explained, some of Gharachedaghi's co-stars felt she was “blowing [her illness] out of proportion a little bit” during season five of the Bravo TV series because they misunderstood her intentions.

“I don’t think she’s necessarily blowing it out of proportion with malicious intent, but I think she was going through a difficult time with it so in her mind it became this obsession and this huge thing for her. It became bigger and bigger and bigger in her own mind,” he explained. “It’s going to be a lifetime battle for her and she still has to get her treatments."

“She isn’t in as much pain as she was a year ago,” he concluded.

As fans may have heard, Gharachedaghi is also experiencing the emotional hardships of a divorce after splitting from her former husband after just weeks of marriage earlier this year.
